Only Three Things That “Humans” Can Provide And “Robots” Can Not Do

Three things that humans can do and robots can not offer

Recently, the word of “robots will take over human work” has been heard many times in news and articles. Certainly, there is a high possibility that such an era will come. Sooner or later, when considering that the world moves in a rational direction, it would be unavoidable.

However, the widespread use of robots does not mean that all occupations will be gone, so there will be some occupations that will survive or jobs that their demands will further increase.

It is something that robots can not do, that is, things that only human can provide.

In article, three things that human beings can provide, but robots cannot will be discussed.

1: Design

When the industrial revolution occurred in the United Kingdom in 1811, the “machine breaking movement” broke out. It is a citizen’s reaction to being robbed of human work by “machines” such as robots. When such facts exist in the past, many people would have negative thoughts. In reality, however, a new job has also emerged. It becomes a “designer”.

It was said that this “designer” occupation was a new birth occupation when the “machine-breaking movement” took place. In addition to that, it is still impossible for robots to substitute for designing advertisements or artworks that attract people’s attention while the robots will continue to be superior to human in this field.

Even if robots are able to perform, it would be possible to take a time or get a result of impossibility.

Therefore, since occupations such as “writers” and “designers” can not be easily replaced by robots, these will continue to have demand.

2: Emotion

Robots that are configured by AI are moving by means of human-captured big data. Therefore, “Emotion” that can not be included in the data is one of the elements that even a smart robot can not provide.

Nowadays, there are various things such as pet robots (Advantages and Disadvantages of [pet robots]), wife figure robots (in which wife figure robots have been developed in China), communication robots (Advantages of implementing communication robots). Various types of robots have been developed, but emotion that is something cannot be passed on to these robots. Even if human movement is possible for them, they still cannot provide “emotions”.

Therefore, service industries such as “bars” and “restaurants” where view their hospitalities are important will survive, and the demand will continue to grow.

3: Judgment

Human beings can take an appropriate action depending on situations, and upon trying to do something, they can decide whether they can do it or not. However, the robots can not judge the situation. As mentioned earlier, since the program provided by the human being is incorporated into AI, and then the robots operate based on the information, basically the robots can not do anything other than the program that has been implemented.

For example, if someone falls, and the robot judges that he/she is sleeping, it would be possible that the robot cannot provide an appropriate response in an emergency situation. Human can judge and take an appropriate action under the situation, so it is the greatest feature of human beings. Thus, this is the boundary between robots and humans.
